# 3492  Players of the Week - Group 5

Section V Boys Lacrosse Coordinator Mike Simon in conjunction with the Canandaigua National Bank are, once again, sponsoring recognition of noteworthy performances throughout the season.

In our fourth group we have a senior and a sophomore who have had noteworthy performances in the last week.

Offensive Player of the Week

Tano AuriusoTano Auriuso - Aquinas Attackman

Tan Auriuso is the team leader in goals, assists and points. Last week he scored fourteen goals and six assists toward his current 60g-29a on the season and 152g-78 in his three-year totals for Aquinas. In the Canisius game last week he scored the tying goal with seven seconds left in regulation and then scored the winning goal in overtime.

Head Coach Terry Corcoran says, "Despite every team keying on him defensively, and only being a sophomore, Tano is our leading scorer for the third year in a row with 57 goals and 28 assists. Tano is a strong physical dodger that is capable of carrying more than one defender to the goal and at the same time get the ball to his open teammates. The big stat for him that doesn't show up is the "hockey assist" - the number of times he draws a crowd and moves it to his teammates who in turn record the goal and assist. Both mentally and physically tough, Tano is a pleasure to coach."

Defensive Player of the Week

Cam RyanCam Ryan - Victor Defenseman

Cam Ryan is a strong one-on-one take-away long stick who has been with the Blue Devils for four years and will be moving off to Syracuse University after graduation this spring.

Head Coach Dan Stone makes a strong case for Player of the Week, “Cam Ryan is a great candidate. Last week he guarded the leading scorer on every team we played, each with over 50 points prior to our game in Cooper Moore (IQ), Ethan Aust (Penfield), and Brady Garcia (Baldwinsville); those three players accounted for a combined 2 goals, 1 assist with Cam defending them. His presence on the field forces opponents to adjust how they attack the goal. Cam is a leader on and off the field who leads by example and saves the talking to praise teammates to make sure their efforts are validated, appreciated, and continue to contribute to our team`s goals.”
